Hartz Dog and Cat Flea Products!

Recently, A woman who had purchased one of our pups last year

Informed us that the dog was having seizures for no apparant reason.

The dog was being treated by their vet and we were worried since this

has never happened to any of our dogs! We asked the owner to please keep

us informed of what was going on, and what the diagnosis was.

"Bad news with Baxter...he has epilepsy. On Saturday I hadn't seen him for

a couple of hours because I had a volleyball tournament and when I got home

he was sooo excited and all the sudden he started crying.

I sat him down to look at him and he fell over...looking lifeless and still crying.

I picked him up and started to stimulate him by rubbing him and pressing

on his chest and his eyes were real weird looking, then I gave him a

puff of air in his nose and he kinda came out of it. So I kissed him on

the mouth like I always do to see if he was okay and he kissed me back

but looked confused...So I called my vet and rushed him in.

He said you can't really test for epilepsy, but the symptoms fit.

Upon further examination of blood samples, the vet's Lab found traces

of Hartz's Dog Flea and Tick Solution in Baxter's Blood!

The Vet told her to stop using the product!

More info: While owner was in a Class, someone mentioned that her

dog went into seizures and died. Same diagnosis,

Hartz Flea and Tick Solution in the bloodstream!

After doing research on the Internet This Is What We Found.....

Toxic Pet Product: consumer alert!

"Hartz Mountain Company is currently manufacturing and distributing

a pet product specifically intended for cats that is highly toxic and dangerous.

Following is a detailed explanation of events that have prompted my

recommendation that this product (Hartz Advanced Care Brand Flea

& Tick Drops for Cats Weighing Over 10 Lbs.) be recalled

immediately, and extensively investigated by the

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)"

We have notified the EPA and warned them that this is now occuring in dogs!

PLEASE, PLEASE We ask you NOT to use ANY Hartz Products!

"Insecticides Associated with Bladder Cancer in Dogs -

A statistically significant association between exposure to

topical flea and tick dips, and the occurrence of

bladder cancer in dogs has been found."
