How to choose a breeder

IMPORTANT INFORMATION WHEN CHOOSING A BREEDER.

NOTE FROM BREEDER:

This will help you a bit in finding a reputable breeder.

A Resonsible Breeder does NOT have to be a member of so called clubs, first off learn that. CLICKS of breeders are now forming groups to tell you to ONLY purchase from these websites/breeders....these groups are called BROKERS. I am in NO way associated with such groups. I do not have FACILITIES as some put it, I am a home breeder which means my dogs are my pets first, they live in my home and are my breeding dogs secondary. I am NOT a facility , I am a HOME.....I consider a FACILITY, a commercial kennel.

A Responsible Breeder........will have clearances, certifications or results of tests completed on their breeding stock for the genetic diseases that are inherent in each breed and they are happy to share those with their clients.

A Responsible Breeder........Will have high standards as to the care and concern they have for their animals. All needs are met both emotionally and physically for all the adults and puppies in their care. Some breeders like myself are holistic breeder's.

A Responsible breeder will use the highest quality health care so your puppy will be around for a very long time. In purchasing from me, you are purchasing a puppy that has had the BEST in holistic care and natural food with no toxins or byproducts which can be deadly for our beloved pets.

A Responsible Breeder.......Will be honest with high moral standards and integrity to provide their clients with a quality puppy. She/he, will be available to answer any questions and concerns that their clients have - during the sale and long after the sale.

A Responsible Breeder.......Will have a health guarantee for their puppies. Although each individual breeder will have a guarantee that will vary in time and content.....a 2 year minimum (is recommended)

A Responsible Breeder.......Will have some form of application for the breeder to learn where his/her pups will be going, either written or verbal, to insure that the puppy will have a good home and quality care.

A Responsible Breeder...... Will allow clients to visit their home/kennel and view their dogs. Although each individual breeder will have their own set of rules on this, beware of those that will not allow visitation .

HUGE red flag!!!!!

A Responsible Breeder......Will be happy to provide you with recommendations from clients.

A Responsible Breeder......Will ask you many questions concerning your family and the life that this puppy will have.

!!! RED FLAGS !!!

Breeders that allow no visits .

Groups of breeders that form clubs stating you should NOT buy from anyone but them...be careful people, this is a made up group, USUALLY a group of friends, trying to sell their HUNDREDS of pups for a HUGE price.

Breeders that require a large sum of money as a nonrefundable deposit.

Breeders with an unreasonable guarantee.

Unknowledgeable breeders who cannot answer your questions.
