Letters of recommendation from past customers which I raised for about 13 years.  If you would like to talk to some of my past customers about my ethics and my morals and my puppies, I will get their email addy for you.  I do not supply addresses on my site, due to so much fraud on the internet and I want my past customers to have their privacy.  You get only honesty from me....I tell it like it is, although sometimes it gets me in trouble....   :)

Hi Sher!

We have been enjoying Arthur for almost 3 weeks now and we have loved every minute of it. Away from his teething he is the most lovable, handsomest? furchild I have had. You have trained him very well. I can tell he had lots of love and attention, because it shows. He did not whimper once when I brought him home. He is so comfortable with us. He traveled well. Slept through the 1st night (in fact all the nights). Made himself right at home. To me, this is a sign of a great breeder. When your puppy can go from one home to the next and feel as comfortable as Arthur does. His sister Abby is enjoying her new brother and playmate. I commend Sher and her husband and staff (if there is a staff!), and I would not hesitate to refer anyone looking for a lovable furball to her. Sher is amazing. And when she says she will answer any of your questions, it's true. I have been talking and e-mailing with Sher off and on since April. She gives you loads of very important information on your pups. Me and my family treasure Arthur and Abby. Abby is one of Sher's rescues and we love her to pieces also. She is so sweet and her and Arthur bonded right away. I also feel very comfortable to know that Sher will be there when I have additional questions as they arise.
I am so glad and pleased when I came across Sher's website after losing my 9 1/2 year old Bailey (purebred Shih Tzu) at the end of March 2007. Sher helped me with my grief and did not in any way "push" me into deciding on a new pup. She will be there. I would recommend Sher to anyone looking for a new pup. She has the best, and brings them into the world the right way, with lots of love and attention. They are truly " (Wo)Man's best friend". And Sher has done a fantastic job with that!

Sincerely yours,

Liz Curlew and Family

Hello Sher!

I don't know if you remember me, we purchased the most
beautiful puppy from you just over a year ago
(Rinaldo) we have renamed him Cosmo, and he is the
light of my life. I have never had a dog with such a
sweet temperment and easy going personality!! We
would love to send you pictures for your web site, is
this the correct email address for the photos? He is
truly the alpha dog in our home and has been from the
day we brought him home. He and the pug play all the
time (just so the pug always knows who's in charge!!)
The cat has even come to love him. I will never buy
another breed of dog.

Thank you again for breeding these wonderful dogs and
raising them with such love....Hope to hear from you.

Lori Sheffieck

Hello Sher,
We saw on your web site, where you were going to be breeding Romeo & Willow for the last time. My wife and I bought our Gizmo' Jo from you in 2004, we came all the way from Louisiana to get him. Romeo & Willow are his parents. So I thought I would let everyone know how lucky they would be to get a puppy from that litter to come. Judging from Gizmo they produce the perfect babies. He truly has the greatest personality of any animal I have ever had. He has such a human like quality, that is not always the case in my experience. He is over flowing with love and just the right amount of energy & playfulness mixed in. For the record he has not had a single health problem from day one. Thank you for doing such a great job on our baby boy.
Sincerely
John & Dana Crumpler

Hi Sher,
I am so sorry it has taken me this long to write to you and share my gratitude. You may remember that my beloved Shih Tsu had passed away and I contacted you about your site. I was absolutely determined that I didn't want to get another Shih Tsu because of the pain I experienced over losing my first one, Wolfgang, a brindle and white Shih Tsu. I voiced my concerns over being reminded of Wolfie, as brindle and whites are very common. You were so patient in answering my questions. You also asked me to take a look at a newly posted pic on your site of Cleveland, as he was then called. He was a pure black little angel. When I did, I fell head over heals in love with him. Well, long story short, we adopted him and he is the absolute love of our lives! It's been about two years since our family adopted Harley, as we named him, and I just can't say enough about him.
Harley is a funny, precious, little sweetheart. His temperment, personality and physical health are second to none. He was very easy to train. Everyone who meets him loves him. He has a fanclub within our circle of friends! We joke that no one comes to see us anymore. He is utterly spoiled and there is no hope for recovery!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the service you provide. I cannot tell you how much joy this little guy has brought into our lives. I will try to get some pictures mailed to you soon, hopefully this week so that you can see how well he is doing. If I try to send them in email, my computer freezes up for some reason.
By all means, please use this email, or us, as references. We tell everyone about you! :c) Thank you again!
A lifetime customer,
Tammy Schmit

Subject: AN OPEN LETTER OF "THANKS FOR BUFFY!"

Dear Sher:
Tomorrow will be Buffy's Sixth month Anniversary...and we will be celebrating having her in our home for the past three months...When I say "celebrate", it is the understatement of the year. In all the years that I've had pets..(60 years!), including the "Show and Obedience" Worlds, I've never had one that is so darling, so precious, and so easy to have as a member of the family as our precious Buffy....
We, Dave and I, salute you for being such a wonderful breeder....First of all, when she came to us, she was completely free of parasites and didn't have a trace of diahrea.even being scared after the long plane ride (she flew from Michigan to California)....However, we did take your advice and gave her cottage cheese for a few days....She was a little apprehensive the first night and the following morning...and then in the afternoon, bounced out of the crate, tail wagging and took over the house!!!!! She had a good appetite, was happy being in her wired crate where she could see everything that was going on...and at night slept through the night after the first few days...she has never once gone potty in her crate and has let us know when it was time to take her out, even before we thought it was the right time...It was only a couple of weeks before she had the run of the house...and of course loves to be on the bed playing with her toys..
Our veterinarian and his entire staff melt every time we bring her in...this is a vet who's seen thousands of dogs and goes completely "ga ga" when he examines her...She even likes being there....Also she loves people and any other dog she meets...not a shy bone in her body....Our vet has asked me to thank you for breeding for temperament. When I told him that your aim is to produce puppies for this and not for size and show,he said it's obvious. He was also very impressed with your website as I'd printed out pretty much all of it for him to see...Your directions and suggestions were so helpful and I'd never worked with a breeder who'd gone to such trouble to ensure that her babies new parents would get know what to do right fromthe beginning..
Our neighbors, who has Buffy's half sister has said the same things about their darling Zu Zu who also loves people and other dogs and has brought as much joy to their household as Buffy has brought to us...
As I had mentioned to you, the past two years were the only years I'd been without a pet as we lost two (elderly ones) in the same year and we swore we'd never get another one...it was a very painful year....but then Dave and I fell in love with Zu Zu who lives directly across the street and her parents suggested we get in touch with you....It was the kindest and most fabulous idea that can be imagined...
We can never thank you enough for our wonderful Buffy...aside from all the attributes that I mentioned above, she is also a very sensitive little one,, When I was ill and in bed for a few days, she stayed with me and tried to comfort me by staying close and then being a little clown to get me to laugh....all this from a five month old puppy. Our friends adore her as do we....We feel truly blessed to be given such joy in our senior years!
Please feel free to use this letter as a reference....Both Dave and I would be proud to tell the world about your "babies"...
With gratitude and affection from
Barbara and Dave Severance

Dear Sher,
What can I say? Finding you was a Blessing. Our little bright eyed beautiful little girl Minnie has just been the best. I cannot say enough about her temperament. She is so kind and sweet. I have never seen anything like her. We have five kids ranging from 13yrs to 3 yrs old and she has never once growled or barked at any of the kids. She love, love, loves people and kids. Everywhere we go, people stop us to play with her and tell us how gorgeous her color and how sweet she is. We just love our little Minnie so much and couldn't imagine our home without her little paw in it!
Thank you so much for all the care and help I have gotten from you. You have truly been an amazing woman and the love you have for these little guys is just unbelievable. Minnie has been perfect in everyway. I have thoughts of getting another pup from you. (what am I thinking!! ha-ha) I feel that I can call you with any concern. When you say you are there for the life of your puppies you we not exaggerating. Lots of love to you and those little fur balls!
Thank you Candice,Clark, Falon, Blake ,Brooke, David and Reed Jabiro.

Dear Sher,

Here is an update on Murphy. He is a healthy and happy Shih-Tzu. He has been a very easy puppy to train and has a very easy going temperament. From day one, he has slept most of the night in a crate at the foot of our bed. He occasionally will wake once during the night to go outside, and then returns to the crate to sleep quietly.
He is very friendly and loves all other pets (cats, birds) and people. He was given a clean bill of health by our vet on the first day. In fact, the vet said, “He is an excellent specimen for the breed.”
Murphy is bright and alert. He has been taking to the routine of our daily schedule and has learned several tricks/commands. He will sit, lay-down, and wait to take a treat lying in front of him until we say, “OK.”  The commands only took a hand-full of tries to learn. Pretty smart for a few months old!
We are delighted with our new family member. It would not seem the same here without him. The children love him and have formed a great bond with him as well. This is our first dog and the experience has been great. We feel this is not only a testament to a great choice of breed, but also to the quality and care you give your puppies. Thanks for the time and patience you put into raising these wonderful dogs.
                                                         Sincerely,
                                                                The Krimmel Family

Hi Sher,
Please post below on your website as a testament to your character and beautiful personality.
I have been working with Sherry for at least the last six months. She has been very accommodating and patient as I searched for the perfect “older” family pet. Sher answered all of my emails, immediately (I mean within the hour most times!), she was patient with me while deciding whether to purchase one or two and she was very knowledgeable about her babies. I was and still am very impressed by her care and concern for her doggies. I have found less expensive breeders, I have found more expensive breeders-but none compared to the care and quality of Sher’s pups/dogs. Never did I sway from my decision to use her as “my breeder” I have referred her and will continue to do so as the “Expert” in the Shih Tzu field. Sherry, keep up the wonderful work and I hope to purchase another well adjusted older dog from you soon. Save the perfect one for me!
Nicole

Hello Sher,
I just wanted to give you an update on Cody. Cody is now a little bit over 5 months old,
and
he is adorable. Shortly before I came across your website, I have just recently lost my
8 year old
Shih tzu boy, Madi, to lung cancer, and I was devastated. After Madi died I kept saying
to myself
that I did not want to get another dog for years to come. During my grieving period I
would surf the net
just to see pictures of Shih tzus, since I missed Madi so much. That was when I found
your website.
I was immediately impressed by the quality of your information and got taken away when I
saw the
pictures of all the sweet little puppies on your site. I kept saying to myself that I
did not want to get
another dog for years to come, but I just could not stay away from visiting your site. I
visited your site
almost everyday, and each time I cried for the lost of my Madi. One day you posted a
message in
your site indicting that new puppies where born and when they where going to be ready.
Out of
an impulse I filled an application and sent it to you. Later on I was hoping that my
application would get
lost, but as time passed and I kept visiting your site and saw the beautiful puppies I
wanted to hear
from you badly. But I didn't, my application did get lost! Just like I have wished. By
that time I was
so in love with the puppies that I called you. You were just right there to answer the
phone. I found myself asking if you
had any available puppies, you said you didn't know, but that if you did you would call
me back.
A few minutes later my phone rang and you were on the other line, just letting me know
that there was
one male puppy available. I had so many mixed emotions, suddenly my major fear have
turned into
reality. I had to make a decision if I were going to bring home another dog, only three
months after
Madi passed. Many other concerns came to me then. How would I know I like the
personality of
the new puppy? How would I know that you were a reputable and honest breeder? Over time
all my fears
disappeared. You answered every single one of my questions and concerns, even told me
that if
I changed my mind about the new puppy it was fine with you.

Well, I did not change my mind and after 3 months of wait and 10 hours long trip Cody
came home to Arkansas.
I was immediately impressed with Cody. He was so calm and did not cry during the entire
trip or after
we came home, it was almost like he said to me: "I'm home". I was ready to loose a few
nights of sleep with Cody crying. Not a bit, Cody slept each and every single night. I
was expecting to have a long
struggle housebreaking Cody, but to my surprise Cody was almost fully housebroken, and he
only had
a couple of accidents in the house during the first week.

I still miss Madi a lot, but I know that Madi would want his mommy to be happy and
somehow I believe
that Madi guided me to find your website and to bring Cody home. Today, Cody is a happy,
sweet, well behaved little guy. He is healthy and thriving successfully. I love his
personality and he
makes me laugh all the time. He have filled the home with joy again. I am grateful Cody
is in my life
and I send you, Sher, a big HUG and a big THANK YOU, for doing such a wonderful job as
a breeder
You are honest, caring, you where always there to answer all my questions and you breed
quality, sweet,
adorable Shih tzus.

Thanks,
Dr. Mayra Alfonso

I wanted to thank you for our cute little guy Marco. We had never done a purchase like this over the internet and were a little leary at first. After speaking to you personally and investigating your website we felt very confident in our decision.
Our little guy isn't so little anymore. He's growing and thriving and as our vet says, "A very healthy little guy". We are so pleased with your help along and the way. And of course, we love Marco so much. He became one of the family right away. He's a social little guy and loves to play and cuddle. He's so good natured it makes it wonderful to come home to him. He's always so happy and excited to see us. He hasn't picked a favorite yet. He makes sure he divides his time up between both his dad and mom.
Thanks again Sher for all your answers to our phone calls and emails. You were there for us throughout the whole process and we really apprecidated your help.
We couldn't be happier with our little Marco and would recommend you to anyone who is looking for a shih tzu or any other breed you may be raising at the time. Your extra care and attention to vaccines and diseases greatly helps your puppies to be happy and healthy pets.

Dear Sher,
I want to thank you very much for Oliver! He is the best. As you know, I have never had a dog of my own and when I started researching different breeds and the options that were availabe in getting a new pup, I found you! And what a story that is... I was trying to get in touch with another Shih Tzu breeder when I dialed your number inadvertently. Boy am I glad I did. I have 3 young children and I was in search of the perfect family dog. You answered all of my crazy questions from the very start, I think without even knowing my name. Within a few minutes of talking with you, I felt as though I had known you for years. I wanted to make sure that I was getting a quality puppy, and with you I know that I have. You breed for health and temperament, and it shows. Your concern for the health of your puppies and parents shows us customers that you are in it for the right reasons. You provide your customers with top notch quality and service. Waiting until the pups are 12 weeks old makes all the difference when it comes to introducing them into their new home. Oliver has been a breeze to train. The first night home he woke up once and quickly then went back in his crate to sleep. Since then, he sleeps in his crate, no messes, all night long! I think he is amazing. He has the sweetest temperament, very playful, loves my children, who love him alot, all the time!
I just can not say enough about our new puppy! I will recommend to anyone that inquires (and anyone who doesn't!) about you, Sher. Please feel free to have anyone contact me if they would like to speak to one of your customers. I would be happy to chat!
Thank you again for your ongoing devotion to your customers and to your pups!
Melissa Ellsworth and family

Dear Sher,
Just writing to tell you how thrilled we are with Luke. He is the most sweetest lovable dog. After Remy passed away we thought that we would never get another dog again. But by the grace of god when I was surfing the net I found your web site. I remember calling you up, and crying about how we had bought a beautiful Shihtzu from a pet store for the kids one Christmas only to find out several years later that he had only a quarter of a liver. We were devastated, we keep him alive as long as possible but, he finally passed away. You listened to everything that I had to say and assured me that this would not happen to us this time. We all waited until the puppy was born, and then the twelve weeks seemed like forever!! Again you helped me get ready for the puppy and spoke to me no matter when I called you. I have to tell you that you waiting until the puppies are twelve weeks is the best thing not only for the puppy but, also for the family. Remy came home with us at eight weeks and he cried all night and took along time to train. Luke came home and has slept thought the night ever since. He has only had several accidents and that was in the beginning. Now he is fully trained, and he's only here five weeks. We just love him!! He is not only beautiful, he's gentle and kind to other dogs and to children. Everyone comments on how calm he is. As calm as he is he still loves to play with us, and with other dogs. We can not thank you enough for Luke. He has put the smile back on all of our faces with the things that he does. I feel like I have made a friend for life. Thanks Sher.
God bless you,
The Sinopoli Family

Hi Sher,
Just wanted to let you know how happy we are with Maddux. It is obvious what great care you gave him, and that keeping him until he was 12 weeks is the right thing to do. He is well adjusted, loves people, and sleeps in his crate at night without any fuss.
When we began our search for a breeder, we looked at a lot of websites. Yours was most impressive. There was so much information for prospective customers. In reading about all you do for your pups, it was easy to see you were the best choice. We recommeded you to our friends, who ended up buying from you also.
Maddux has brought so much joy to us. He is very playful, and also loving and affectionate. It's only been a week and a half, and he is already very attached to each one of us. We could not have asked for a better puppy. We have taken him several places with us, and are amazed at how well socialized he is with people and other dogs. You are doing a great job! Don't be surprised if we become repeat customers.
Thanks for giving us such a great little guy!

Dear Sher,
I got my Lexi from you only a few weeks ago.  I must tell you how absolutely thrilled our entire family is in purchasing this sweetheart from you.  You explained to me in great detail why you wait the 12 weeks to let your puppies go, and I must commend you on this decision.  Our Lexi has been very easy to housebreak first off, but the important part was that we were going to a family outing the day after we got her.  Since she  had all of her shots, we had no worries of her being around other pets thanks to your incredible health care.
There was a yorkie and a poodle at our reunion , but I have to admit Lexi was the cutest.  It is obvious that you put very much love into these puppies, and I had anxiety in buying online, but the experience in purchasing from you was simply the BEST!
Thank you Sher for being the best breeder there is.  I am definitely sending my friends to you, and our whole family is very blessed that we found you.
There are a lot of breeders out there, and you are one of the few that truly cares!
God bless you and yours, and all of those precious babies that you take care of.
Sincerely,
Angie Thomas

 Sher,
I searched for a great and reputible breeder for over a year.  I told you when I was considering  purchasing a puppy from you that I was very confused about many issuses from websites and what I was learning per my research.  I also saw many breeders being very hurtful to other breeders and learned how cut throat this business was.  I did not want to get caught up in the breeders that seem so hateful and that are so competitive.  One website preaches tinies and teacups and boasts how great they are and I learned differently after doing more research, one website goes on to say they are the best in all they do and all other breeders do things wrong, this site was so negative that they did not make an impression on me except to exit their website!  One website states her belief in God, but when you go to another page on her site she speaks evil things and makes negative comments about her competition, this turned me off.
This breeder search  has been a truly interesting road.
When I found your website I was taken back by all of your information.  When I decided to call you, not only did I learn things that I had questions about, but I felt totally comfortable in your answers.
Being as confused as I was, I did check your references which were nothing short of wonderful !
I then decided to take the gamble.  I call it a gamble because I had never purchased a puppy online before.  You have been and done everything you promised.  Sweet Pea is not only gorgeous and healthy, but she is smart, loving, and I just couldn't be happier in my decision to buy from you.
It was time that I sent this letter to you, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart, by not laughing at some of my silly questions, but in answering every single email and phone call for advice.  I know how busy you are, and although it takes a couple of days at times for you to respond, that is totally understandable.
I am going to refer you to anyone that asks about my beautiful Sweet Pea, we now call her Sweetie for short.
Thank you again Sherry for all that you do, your quality, and your love and most of all your expert care of my puppy.

Hi Sher:

Just a quick note to let you know that Sadie is doing wonderful. She is such a little love-bundle that we can't believe it. She has been "crate trained" almost since the time we got her home. She won't go potty in her kennel, and she goes immediately when we take her outside. She even goes about seven hours at night without going potty. She is doing so well!!! We could not be happier. We, of course, have her out of her kennel a lot, and my husband is worried that she is going to forget that she has legs, as she gets carried around a lot! She has met our chocolate lab and golden retriever, and she doesn't even flinch. She definitely thinks she owns the place, and that they have to answer to her. Funny, they act like they are willing to do just that!

We haven't taken a lot of pictures yet, but I have tried to send a couple.

Hope you are doing well. Don't know how you do it with all of the babies you have, but we are definitely convinced that we made the right choice in choosing you as our breeder. Everyone who sees Sadie falls for her and says "where did you find her???" So we tell them!!!

Take care, and thanks for what you do!!!

Sandy and Ashley Howell

Hi Sher,
What a wonderful puppy you brought to me!! Gilby is such a loving and smart puppy. I took him to the college administration building the other day and it wasn't long until five of the administrators - even the college president was down on her hands and knees playing with him on the floor. They all commented on how adorable he was and how much fun is was to play with him. I stayed an extra hour in order for all of them to have a chance to play with him since they kept calling in their cohorts to see him! It is a joy to share him with other people because of the open and friendly way he takes to them as well as their dogs and children. I had Gilby around my three preschool grandchildren last weekend and he allowed them to hold him and pet him without a struggle. He even played fetch with them and quickly befriended their golden retriever!! I have also found him to be very quick to train! It all comes down to the fact that he had a wonderful beginning with his breeder. He trusts people, he is outgoing, very loving and he even doesn't even mind having his toenails cut. He doesn't even to seem to mind being bathed! I am also really grateful that you started him on a water bottle. It makes it so easy to take him anywhere with the water bottle! He is also catching on to the pee-pad experience quicker than I thought he would. we are working on the chewing on everything phase now... Thank you Sher for bringing me such a wonderful puppy to share my life with!! He is everything and more that I could have hoped for!!
Sincerely,
Mary Blakely

May 12, 2006
Over the past twenty-five years I have owned three other shihtzus. All three had health problems, primarily bladder stones, kidney disease and severe allergies. My last shihtzu died at age 16 1/2 in the fall of 2003. I made the decision to remain "dog-less" for several years to just give it a rest.
When I started to explore the options of buying another dog, I investigated locally but discovered I did not want to gamble on health issues. Exploring the internet I came upon many sites. I am the kind of person who had to sit in a bathtub for an hour in the showroom before I bought it, so I wasn't sure how I would buy a dog on the internet sight unseen.

I came across Sher's website and looked at it for a good six months. Finally, in the fall of 2005, I came home from work one night at midnight and decided to contact Sherry. I emailed her regarding the removal of dewclaws because it was not spelled out in her website. By the time I got up the next morning, Sherry had already been to the vet and had emailed me back. She stated that she indeed does have the dewclaws removed.

I was very impressed that she responded so quickly to my inquiry. I have come to learn that she is a unique breeder. She not only provides exceptional fur-babies over the internet, but does so in such a manner that it feels as if she is right next door!!! My main concern with buying a puppy on the internet was that I couldn't "touch or feel" my puppy. Another concern was how do I know I can trust her? But those concerns were quickly alleviated by Sherry's customer service and rapid response system.

It became clear to me that I would be buying my puppy from Sher, especially on December 3 when I woke to see 5 little five-day old puppies on her website. There was one girl puppy who appeared to have a white face, but all I could see was the top of her tiny head. For some reason I just fell in love with her. I called Sher immediately to ask if she indeed had a white face and whether she was available. Sher was sitting right by the puppies and picked her up and answered YES to both questions. She put her on hold for the weekend until my adoption application was received and approved.

Over the next 10 weeks things just fell into place. I began to realize that it was just like having a baby. You know it's coming, but you can't see it yet. I also realized what "good hands" my baby was in and all I had to do was just sit back, wait and stare at her baby pictures. We decided to name our golden baby "Dory" after the blue fish in Finding Nemo. Dory was a loyal, happy friend to Nemo's Dad, so it seemed like a good fit. We later discovered that "Dory" means golden-haired.

When Dory came home she already knew her name. She was immediately comfortable in her new home setting and we could tell right away that she was very self-confident. The first night we put her in a playpen in the bedroom and she went right to sleep in her little bed. The next day at work everyone asked how much she kept me up, and I said "not at all". They were shocked!!! Although she woke up a number of times, she did not cry or whine even once!! I'd have to say that's a pretty secure shihtzu!!!

Sher has always been available to answer all our questions and we are very grateful for that. We personally think Dory is the cutest shihtzu in the world, so it was "icing on the cake" when she won the first  Cutie-Patootie contest.

We are very happy with the purchase of our baby . Dory is a healthy, active puppy who has no problems with allergies. We feel the food recommended by Sher has been instrumental in keeping Dory healthy and allergy free. We are looking forward to many years of fun with this cute, smart little puppy, and are very grateful to have found Sher as our breeder. She took all the stress and worry away from us, and we know she will be there in the long run to guide us along the way.

Sincerely,
Linda

Hi Sher,

Sorry this has taken me so long, but you know how it is with new puppies !

I bought two darling shihtzus from Sher.  In my search I was confused and amazed at all of the different breeders, websites, pictures, and sizes of shihtuzs that were being advertized.  I then began investigating.  I learned many things.  First, I learned there is really no such breed as those little imperials.  Although I have to admit they are certainly cute, after my search I realized this is a breed that someone has downsized and they can become sickly. After talking to some friends, I decided to not purchase one of this size.  Through Sher's website, I learned so much, and after talking to Sher on
many occasions, I felt comfortable in taking that plunge, and purchased two shihtzus from her.

That was the best decision I ever made.

Not only were my puppies sweet smelling little fur balls, but they were socialized beyond belief !  I was close to buying my puppies from a kennel, but I didn't feel right about that.  I made the right choice.

My vet was totally impressed with my new puppies.  They checked out 100% healthy, they are loving and very smart little dogs.

Bailey, and Becky are a dream come true for me.  I coudn't be happier.
I would definitely refer my friends and relatives to Sher, as a matter of fact, my neighbor is going to get a puppy from Sher this summer.
Sher is very honest, her puppies are wonderful, and she has been there for me for all of my questions and trust me, I have had many.
There are many breeders, but only a few that do this for the love of the breed.

I have seen the breeder battles going on, and quite honestly, I had to see for myself what it was all about.  I did research on that also, and learned many breeders will try to hurt each other and to me, its childish and those sites that try to hurt someones business by trivial jealousy,  I will never visit again.  Like Sher said, you can only tell a good breeder by her references, and NOT by another envious breeder.  I can see why people might target Sher, she tells you how it is, and her dogs are great and she is too !

I checked her references as she asked, and got nothing but great comments.  Don't hesitate and I know how hard it is to buy from the internet.  I'm just glad we found YOU !!

Sher is by far the best there is, and if you are looking for an honest loving person, that delivers healthy beautiful puppies, purchase a puppy from Sher, you will never regret it.

Sincerely,
Amy and Todd Mellinca

Our new little  baby is asleep in her bed and I just had to write. We have had her home for one week and she has already settled in. I will be forever grateful to Sher and her passion for her babies.
My journey to Sher was similar to many. We had lost our beloved shih-tzu in January 2005 at the age of 16. I swore to never go through the heartache of losing a pet again. But, life goes on and I knew that our family was incomplete without a shih-tzu presence among us.
So my on-line search began for a breeder.

Our previous pet was found through our local Adopt a Pet organization. She was a beautifully marked 3 year old female who had produced three litters before her breeder turned her in to be adopted. Although our family did the socially responsible thing of rescuing an animal, we spent the next 13 years loving and caring for an emotionally neglected dog. She never got over her lack of socialization during her first three years of life. She preferred being alone than interacting with people and she never did know how to play with toys.
Our ten week old  pup has come to us with a love of people, an eagerness to please and a willingness to meet and play with everyone. She has beautiful markings and is extremely healthy. She was obviously held often and lovingly before she came to us. And, although playful and engaging, she has the quiet and laid back temperament we love in a shih-tzu.

Sher has been a true partner in our journey for a new pet. Her willingness to share her expertise with this breed has been outstanding. Additionally, however, she is extremely open with her resources for food, information and products for caring for these wonderful creatures. It is a rare business person who is self-confident enough to lay their cards openly on the table for all players to see. She is dedicated, honest and caring about her animals and the people who will raise them.

Thank you, Sher, for your professionalism and dedication. It has been a pleasure working with you and getting to know you.

Letter received March 27, 2006

I spent over a year searching for the right puppy. Knowing this is possibly the last dog I will ever own, it was important to me to find just the right one. I tried all the socially acceptable ideas of looking in pounds and shelters, without any real success and one terribly heartbreaking experience. I visited puppies for sale by breeders and was not satisfied with what I saw. I searched the web for breeders and never felt comfortable with what I read until I came to Sher's website.
My little Chauncey is the most beautiful puppy in the world. Our vet says he is one of the gentlest, most laid back dogs she has ever seen.
That first day, when Sher put him into my arms he snuggled in, totally comfortable and content to be with me. I had driven a long way and my friends had come with me. It was quite an event and we weren't quite ready to go home, so Chauncey went with us everywhere. He sat sweetly in his bag on a chair in very nice restaurants, silently watching through the netting while we ate and no one was the wiser. He slept curled up on the bed that night in the hotel right next to my heart and we were almost concerned that he was too quiet, too laid back, but not to worry!
He is the brightest little clown I have ever known! It only takes a moment to teach him a command and once it is learned, he just keeps on repeating it. Sometimes when I am talking to him, he will cock his little head, looking at me with those so bright eyes, as if to say, "You want me to what? Okay, makes no sense to me, but if it makes you happy, here goes!"
I have had dogs all my life, but I have never had a dog like Chauncey (who by the way is named after Chauncey Olcott who wrote "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling".) He is the most magical fur baby anyone could have ever imagined.
Do I recommend Sher? I would never get a dog, or puppy from anyone else.
Sincerely,
Linda and Chauncey Angell

I would highly recommend Sher to anyone looking for an honest breeder, with top quality dogs. We waited for a year for just the right one, and now have our beautiful Lily and couldn't be more thrilled. Sher is always honest. This is actually our second purchase from Sher. Our first was one of her young adult dogs. He fit in to our family so well, we needed to add to it. Thanks Sher for our beautiful dogs, your honesty, and friendship!

To anyone thinking about a puppy:

I want to thank Sher so much for my new babies. I had Shih Tzu's before and I loved them so much that I new I wanted more when the time was right. I did A LOT of research looking for a good, no a great breeder. My first puppies were great, I loved them, but they had health problems. I got them from a woman who called herself a “breeder” but in hindsight I realized she was the middleman for an out-of-state puppy mill or a least an unreputable breeder.

For an entire year I researched breeders all over the country and keep a close watch on the websites for a few. I was SOOO impressed by Sher's site and watched her site regularly. I finally decided which of her puppies I wanted to be the mama and I e-mailed Sher with my adoption form. I got on the waiting list and that spring the puppies were born.

I wanted 2 puppies the same litter so they could have a friend, to make their transition into their new forever home easier, and because you can't have just one Shih Tzu.  One of my puppies was quite small and Sher was reluctant to let me take her home because she wanted to be SURE she was healthy. Sher made me promise to e-mail her everyday with updates for the first week or so. I had some questions once I brought them home and Sher was ALWAYS there to help anyway she could. Both my babies are healthy and I now have the 2 sweetest most loving puppies. When Sher says they come to you socialized….you can't quite understand what that means until you actually see it. My babies love everyone and just want to be held or doted on. When someone comes to pet them, they roll over on their backs or will curl up in your lap and are great with the neighborhood dogs as well as children.

I cannot recommend these babies highly enough, nor can I express just how much joy my babies bring me AND everyone who meets them. They are gorgeous, loving, healthy, and just fabulous.

Dear Sher,
What can we say???  You are truly and angel…I remember phoning you months ago crying telling you that we had just lost our Maggie after having her for 14 years…You listened patiently and consoled me…I will never forget that day. I knew I had made a forever friend.. With all the e-mails that you sent us and the photos of Liza Jane we are truly grateful that we found you.  It is quite obvious that you are doing what you do best….for you have brought such happiness to us all!!!!

We now have our Liza Jane a.k.a. Lizzie Bob!!!….I remember clearly the day you brought her to us….Tears filled all of our eyes…she is the sweetest little girl….What a great temperament she has….She has definitely brought joy into our home..We love her to pieces…..

Our vet commented on what a beautiful Shih Tzu she is…He noticed how well socialized  she is and what a wonderful temperament she has… he was so impressed with her…She got all A's on her check-up!!!!..She is just a perfect little girl!!!!
.
Now that she is almost 5 months, we discussed having her spayed which would take place late August or early September…When I asked him in we could have it done early August he said definitely not….He does not believe in spaying until she is 6 months old.  He said that he would definately not perform surgery until that time. He would rather do the procedure later than earlier. You were right…..

Thank-you again Sher for all that you do….You have been a delight from the get-go.

Love,
Louie and Carmen

To all who are looking for a shihtzu or any other small breed, please read all
I had begun my search for a new puppy when I picked up a magazine from the pet store featuring breeds and breeders. I once had a Maltese and started looking at breeders there. When I met a new girlfriend and was introduced to her four shihtzus, I changed my search to a shihtzu. When I went into Sher's website, I needed to look no further. And believe me, I, by this time had reviewed MANY websites in search of a good breed and breeder. I had never bought from a breeder before so I really didn't know what or who I could trust. I had heard many horror stories from friends that had bought from breeders and didn't want to make the same mistake. I was looking for a pal that would live a long, happy , and healthy life.
Every morning I got to work early and accessed her website to read more. What a wonderful woman and breeder! I couldn't resist looking at all the puppy pictures each time and her Mommas and Pappas. I showed co-workers her website and raved about who I had found in my long search.
It was very clear by filling out her adoption form that she was not going to let her babies go to just anyone. Another indication of a loving and caring breeder. She truly does this for the love of the breed and the joy she brings families.
Sher emailed me the day after Winston was born to alert me of his availability and included a picture. It was early in the morning when I got her email and was so excited I called and woke the poor woman up to make sure no one else got dibs on him before me. This by the way is not necessary. Sher will not give the option to another until you accept or decline. She has displayed the highest level of integrity and honesty and caring since day one.
Now at this time Sher had two boys and one girl from this litter. One of the boys was already adopted. I immediately adopted the other boy. That night I thought "Why didn't I ask for the girl as well"?....I knew I wanted two babies, not just one. But by the next day she was adopted as well.
To my delight, Sher emailed me about 3 weeks later with another boy available and I adopted Brinkley.
Sher kept me constantly informed on the babies progress and updated pictures.
The proof is in the pudding and this breeder is a blessing. With all our communications, I feel I've also gained a friend. Sher really cares about the families she adopts to.
Sher is very helpful with all my questions regarding their care and she will steer you in the right direction every time as to how to give your new pals the best possible care. Be it what food to feed them, vet care....what to look for, how to care for them after they arrive in their new home, EVERYTHING.
Both these babies came to me in perfect health and temperment. It was obvious they were very muched loved. And the cutest little buttons you've ever laid eyes on. Nearly brought me to tears.
They both took to me right away which surprised me. I thought there might be a little bit of getting acquainted time. They were so socialized that they settled right in.
If you are considering adopting one puppy, think about a second. I highly recommend you get two. They keep themselves company, play together and are just a total delight when you get to know their distinct personalities. I love them both so much!
Any serious families are welcome to contact me at any time for a reference. I've much more to say about this wonderful woman, her care, and her quality of the breed.
Please look for pictures of them in the near future on Sher's website!

To all who are interested in adopting a shihtzu from Sher Andrews:

In Feb., 2004 we adopted a male shihtzu from Sher.  For 2 months Sher kept us updated on our new puppies progress and personality.  She also sent photos via email.
Then, in mid- April we picked up our new puppy.  He was darling, clean, healthy, well cared for and you could tell he had been loved.  Detailed instructions were given to us which were helpful since it had been 12 years since we had a new puppy.  Sher has been available for questions when needed and has kept in touch.  She is loving, devoted, and passionate about her dogs.  I would highly recommend adopting a shihtzu from Sher Andrews

Before I go into how wonderful Sher is, let me tell you about the first ShihTzu we bought.  10 years ago we bought a shihtzu puppy from a pet store.  We paid close to $1000 for him.  We also ended up putting out a lot of money because he was constantly sick.  We eventually had to put him to sleep- on our honeymoon.  We we got back, we went to the pet store and explained what had happened.  We not only didn't get our money back, (they said we should have had an autopsy done to prove he was sick and it was genetic), we had to finish paying off what we owed !  It was devastating for us.  ShihTzus for some reason, make you fall so in love with them that they become like your kids.  Fast forward 10 years when we started thinking again about getting a puppy.  We knew we wanted a ShihTzu.  We also knew after our experience with the pet store and talking to people that going through a breeder was the only way to go.  We found Sher's website and read what she had to say.  We were impressed.  We talked to Sher about adopting Tasha.  We met halfway to pick Tash up.  It was such a pleasure to meet Sher  in person.  We had really come to connect with and like her through her emails and our few phone conversations.  We could tell how much she loved Tash, and felt honored that se trusted us enough to take her.  Sher was so unbelievabley patient, understanding, and kind.  She was very willing to allow us to return Tash and refund our money, but encouraged us to give it just a few more weeks.  We, and Tash settled in.  We were thrilled and so grateful to Sherry that she reassured us and eased our minds.  We have fallin in love with Tash more and more every day.  We continue to keep in touch with Sher and we still send her pictures of Tash.  We've had her over a year now and not had an ounce of problems.  We contine to visit Sher's website to see the new babies.  Sher knows we are planning on adopting at least 2 more of her babies.  We live out in Nevada now, but are willing to pay for the shipping because we know the wonderful quality of her pups and know what a wonderful breeder we are dealing with.  She truly gives all her love and the best care to each litter and that makes such a huge diffrence.   Her dogs are not over bred or in-bred.  We are happy and proud to recommend Sher to ANYONE.  You are lucky to get one of her pups.  She is a true professional and we respect her more because of the huge amount of love and TLC she gives all her pups.  We hope this letter helps you feel at ease with Sher and helps foster your trust in her.  We have seen and had the worst(our sweet sickly dog from over/in -bred parents)to the best (our Tash). Our highest confidence and praise for Sher-she is the best.

Sincerely,
The Klesen Family-Tony, Laura, Dakota, and Tash

To whomever is out there looking for an adorable, loving, and most imporantly, healthy shihtzu puppy, I highly recommend buying one from Sher.  I bought my puppy "NEMO"  and I am very pleased with him.  He is very healthy which is extremely important, very loving, very smart, and show quality.  Everywhere I take him I get tons of compliments on his coat and features.  He is a standard size weighing 15 lbs and 10" tall.  My vet says he is the most perfect shih tzu he has ever seen and is definitely show quality.  I've seen other so called shihtzus out there and they didn't look at all like shih tzus or their coat just didn't look right.  When someone askes me where I got him....I am very proud to tell them.  Sher is a very sweet, honest person and is there for all your questions.  You could definitely tell she was there when these pups were born.  They are very socialized and not afraid of the vacuum or any other loud noises.  I have three young children and when we brought this pup home he was not frightened at all.  This dog is so adorable, he even won the heart of my old-fashied European father (which never cared for a dog...especially not in the house....)  There are so many choices out there and it's scary when you have to make a decision as to where your going to buy a healthy shih tzu.  I can tell you one thing....if you buy a pup from shershihtzus, you will not regret it and you will also feel what I do about this wonderful breeder.  If I were to ever consider buying another shihtzu baby I would definitely buy from this wonderful breeder.  If anyone would like to get in touch with me,you may do so.

Dear Sher,
Thank you for bringing little Snickers into our life, and for all your patience with my ongoing questions.  You are truly a kind-hearted person, and obviously love ALL your dogs.  Your dedication to this loving little breed is most admirable.  I look forward to seeing you again soon for our next little baby.  Please use the enclosed reference letter for future puppybuyers, as I would feel honored to show my appreciation to you in some small way.  If they would like further information, feel free to have them email me and I would be more than willing to answer any questions that I can.
Thanks again,
Tricia DeHaan

We would like to sincerely recommend that you consider purchasing your new Shih Tzu puppy from Sher .  The male puppy we bought from her has been healthy, energetic, and loving from the very start.  It is clear that our puppy had lots of love and socialization from Sher, which is reflected in his happy, sound temperment.  He has no problems with his health, and is testimony to Sher's care and knowledge in breeding shih tzus.
Sher is a sincere, caring person who, has treated all of our questions with patience and understanding.  She has been consistently straightforward  and genuine in all of our dealings with her, and her integrity and honesty are apparent.  We encourage anyone wishing to get a healthy, well-adjusted puppy from a person who knows and loves this wonderful breed to consider a puppy from Sher.  We cannot stress enough the importance of getting a puppy from a reputable, honest breeder such as Sher.  She is a person whom we trust and highly recommend.  We will be getting our next shih tzu from her as well.  If you would like a loving, healthy shih tzu to become a member of your family, please consider getting one from Sher .  We are SO thankful that we did and we know you will be too.

We wanted to take a few moments to once again THANK YOU for the wonderful puppy that you provided to us.  As you know we were looking for another Shih Tzu to provide some companionship to the one we already have spoiled.  The little guy we received from you truly fit the bill, and we love him dearly.  At this point I am thankful at what you do, and exhibit that in the quality of puppy you provide.
In conjunction with that,  I find your website very informative.  I personally like your candidness, and straightforward approach relative to the position you take with these wonderful dogs.  The adoption form exhibits a true passion that you care where your puppies will grow up, and recieve the love and care that they truly deserve.
Although we had nver met prior to us receiveing this puppy, we feel we have added another friend to our list of many, and that we have known you for much longer than we have.  I'm sure this will  continue as we provide you periodic updates as to how one of your puppies is doing in life, and that it continues to encourage you to keep this wonderful breed available to many other people like us.
I would highly recommend that anyone looking for a wonderful shihtzu have the patience to wait for one of yours.  The weeks of waiting for one of your puppies will seem small, compared to the years of that dogs love that they will receive in return.

Hi Folks,
For months, I looked into the ShihTzu breed on the web.  Many people answered my questions, many didn't .  Others blew me off completely.  You see for years my dream was to become an in home breeder.  One breeder stuck out in my inquiries.  This breeder is Sher Andrews from Michigan.  From the moment I started receiveing her responses I knew she was the one to lead me in the right direction.  We had so many of the same feelings and devotion and love for this breed.  I knew I could trust her.  Her words showed her love and I quickly wanted to know her better.  We talked via email for months.  She has taught me many things and told me some bad experiences she herself has had.  I ended up metting Sher when she flew into my state, Washington, to deliver my new little girl.  An absolutely beautiful red and white show quality Shih Tzu.  Her name is Cameo and she is a wonderful addition to my family.  Since that time Sher and I have become good friends.  We laugh and cry together over the many things we talk about.  But mostly about our love for our dogs.  If anyone is looking for an honest breeder who only tells it like it is, then Sher  is the one to call. She's the best !!!  So are her dogs.  Whatever you're looking for, whether it be a puppy or just some questions answered honestly, Sher is there for you.

I just wanted to thank you for all these months of listening to me. When I lost Colby it was devastating. Trying to find a good breeder was hard until I called you. You listened
To me and felt my pain .It has been a long road for me. A piece of my heart was gone when Colby passed. Then I had to deal with my first puppy passing on only a few months later. Again you were there for me. You always answered all my e mails as crazy as they were. You have so much caring and love inside
It touches me. Also, the love you have for your babies is amazing! Everyday I would get on your web site and read all the changes you had made regarding your animals . You have such a passion for them . It has been a pleasure getting to know you. As I write this letter the night before I meet you . I’m trying to express what you have done for me . It is almost impossible . Everything you have done in these past months
I can’t express enough gratitude. All in all I can say you are a true blessing and I’m so blessed to have met you .

Oliver is pure joy!

From the moment Sher put him in Rae's arms, he has
been  a healthy, clean, loving, content bundle of love.

He got a clean bill of health from both his vets.
We've continued his shots and exams on schedule.

(Sher has made me much more aware, discerning and
pro-active, so we switched vets when I wasn't happy
with the care Oliver was receiving! His new vet is
very competent, loving and playful with Oliver, and
has a number of healthy, happy Shih Tzu's in his
practice!)

He is, of course, beautiful. His markings are lovely
but a look at his mom, dad, and pedigree make that a
no-brainer! He has his mom's soulful eyes and his
dad's thick, soft coat...and vertical lift. ;-)
He's lively and playful and a great cuddler.

Everyone who sees him immediately falls in love with
him. Oliver is warm and friendly and has a great
personality. A credit to his breed--and
BREEDER!  Everybody wants one! He's easy to care for, a
good eater, and is steadily growing and gaining
weight.Oliver is
very particular about his "hygiene." Even at 12
weeks, he much prefers going potty outside! He's fun
to groom, smells great (no "doggy" breath or smell)
and doesn't shed. It's really true!

Thank you, Sher, for giving Oliver such a great
start! We HIGHLY recommend Sherry to anyone who
sincerely wants to give a loving home to a great
dog.

To all looking for an adorable puppy,
We recently adopted sweet CoCo from Sher. It has been all around a fabulous experience. We are in Alabama and sweet Sher was kind enough to fly to Atlanta Ga. to meet us with our puppy. She was genuinely concerned about finding a loving family for this little puppy and you could tell that she had bonded with her and was going to miss her a ton. The puppy is SO cute and our vet keeps telling us that this is a beautiful, healthy Shih Tzu . We have been so impressed with Sher and how she handles her customers and her fabulous dogs! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a sweet loving Shih tzu. She's the best!

NOVEMBER 8, 2004

Dear Sher,
I don't know where to begin. More than a year ago, I began researching information about the shih-tzu breed. I had instantly fell in love with my best friend's dog years ago (a shih-tzu) and from that point on knew exactly what kind of dog I wanted one day. So I mentioned to my husband my desire to get a puppy not too long ago. I told him how maternal I felt lately. We both are quite young and not exactly ready to have children, although Kayla certainly is our first. So my husband finally decided after all my hard work in researching that my birthday present would be the puppy of my dreams. Upon searching for months for the perfect breeder, I stumbled upon your name. I read your website and thought...wow....she certainly knows her stuff. Although I was fooled before by breeders that even were recommended and turned out to be unprofessional and worse, upon my visits unsanitary. As soon as I spoke to you, I just knew that you were the one. You are such a warm and caring person and it certainly shines bright! Every question I asked you was promptly answered in detail without me having to further question. You were always there for advice and still are. You provided a designated website so that I could see my angel grow without even being in her presence. You even flew all the way to Maryland to hand deliver my precious along with even more information to prepare me for the road ahead in caring for my puppy. You gave my husband and I the greatest gift of all. Kayla is our pride and joy. We can't get enough of her. She came to us so well socialized and most importantly with so much love and affection. I just thank God I had a guardian angel leading me to you. Thank you for living up to, above and beyond, your word. I can't reiterate enough, THANK YOU.
Love Always,
The Popovich Family

I am so very pleased with my baby Neko. I know I am partial, but he is the most beautiful shihtzu I have ever seen in my life. He looks and feels just like a teddy bear. His coat is so beautiful and so is his disposition. Sher is the most loving breeder, I have ever met, she takes such pride in her babies. From the moment Suki had the puppies, Sher was posting pictures of the puppies on her website, and I felt like I knew what was going on with my new puppy every step of the way, even before I got him home. Neko is so smart, he even knew his name when he got home. Sher has been available for the many questions that I have had, she is very honest and straightforward in her expectations, and I appreciated that. She is always willing to take a puppy back, if you aren't satisfied because she really cares about the puppies. I always feel like I can call her to ask a question or send her an email and she is very responsive. If I decide to get another puppy, I would definitely get it from Sher, my puppy is healthy and well adjusted. I can not say enough about Sher and the beautiful dogs that she has. I still go the website weekly, just so I can see the new puppies as they grow.

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to own, not one but two, ShihTzus from you.
Toby came home Sept 2003, then Abby came home the week of Christmas. We absolutely love our dogs. Sher is well rounded when it comes to breeding and puppy information. I spoke to the veterinary and groomer that handles ALL of Sher's puppies and dogs. I received great feedback from both of them. We were very pleased with the service Sher provided - from answering questions, guidance, honesty, and the love she gave to our new family members. Our dogs are very healthy and problem free.
I have recommended Sher to my family, friends, and even my veterinary/groomers and I would recommend her to you. Sher is a very kind hearted person and she LOVES those dogs. I continue to watch her website to get a glimpse of a her new puppies. It warms my heart to see the love she has for this breed. From never having a puppy to raising two of them, I don't know how we lived without them.
Thanks for all that you did and continue to do.

In February of 2004 I started researching breeders of Shih Tzus over the internet. I came across Sher's website through "Puppyfind.com" and was extremely impressed. I waited about a month before I finally contacted her. I was so impressed by her constant website updates, her love for the breed, the knowledge and the fact that she actually wanted to know who her puppies were going to. I loved that she cared so much. My husband and I waited for what seemed like forever for our puppy to be born and on August 12
I got the call! Buster had arrived. Sher kept me updated with weekly pictures and emails. It was great to watch our puppy grow every week. He was delivered to us on October 26. To say the least he is the perfect puppy. Clean, healty and extremely happy! He has a personality that doesn't quit. He is so full of love and loves attention. The more people around him, the happier he is. I am so Thankful for Sher and her family. I know that I have a forever friend in Sher and that she is there whenever I have a question. She breeds beautiful, happy, loving, healthy Shih Tzus. I would recommend her to anyone that asks. I can not tell you how many people (even other Tzu owners) have asked where I got him beacause he is so beautiful.
We are so happy with Buster we are thinking about another for next year!

To you who may be considering SHER as your breeder:

There is no doubt in my mind that we made the best decision to adopt a pup from Ms. Sher Andrews .
I had a shih tzu growing up and she was the most loving dog in the world so I knew what breed I wanted.  Mercedes passed away when I was in high school and my dad decided getting another one would not be the best thing only because her death was so heartbreaking to our whole family.
An idea I think he later regretted…
Fast forward some years later and now I live with my boyfriend Jack in downtown Chicago. I really wanted another shih tzu, but he was a bit hesitant because he never had a dog growing up. It took some convincing, but once I showed him Sherry's website he was hooked.
He fell in love with those eyes of a shih tzu as I did long ago, so we followed the process as stated on her site. Jack and I sent Sher an adoption form along with our picture so she could put faces with our names.
At the time of our adopting, she was in the process of breeding five, yes, five mamas…(GOD BLESS HER- don't know how she does it and so amazingly well). So we waited patiently for our pup. I must have went on her site every day waiting for updated news-
she was truly great about keeping things current!
One compromise Jack and I had to make was whether we wanted a male or female. I really wanted a female because that is what I had growing up. Jack really wanted another guy in the house, and after consulting with the informative site Sher provides, I was fine with a boy.
Everyone seems to want a female shih tzu -probably because they can put cute bows in their hair, but now-a-days they make the cutest things for little boy dogs too. What you should realize is that males are so loving and just as cool!  Honestly, this comes from someone who had a female. Females are great, don't get me wrong….but now I know I made the best decision with Dylan.
I originally filled out on the form that female was our first choice. Sher could not guarantee one because most litters only have one female and she had a wait list. Her first litter this past summer had 3 females and one male. She called me once they were born and offered one of the females to us. We did decline and wait for a male because I had promised Jack, but my point is that she really does listen and does care and follow through!

As far as our new puppy…
Dylan is AWESOME. He loves to sit in my lap and getting massages. In fact, he is sleeping on my lap as I write this now. He loves waking up Jack with morning kisses. He is a very playful pup, but he is mellow too. He loves to cuddle by the fire with us on a cold Sunday afternoon. He truly cares about us and is very protective of his new parents at only 14 weeks old. I only hope I am giving him as much love and attention as he gives us!
He gets along with people so well. We had Jack's nephews over who are 2 and 4 years old and he was so good with them. He loves the attention he gets from all my cute girlfriends who have come over and spoiled him. People stop us on the street when we are on walks to comment on how beautiful his coat is in color and thickness. And grandma and grandpa (my parents) - well let's just say he's `Prince Dylan' when he visits with them.
I have told everyone who asks to go to Sher's site if they are considering a shih tzu- top of the line, first class, amazing breed of dogs is what Sher provides to her clients. Jack and I are already in talks of another one….maybe J

One more little story I must share, is that my boyfriend Jack is now my fiancé. He asked me to marry him over the Thanksgiving holiday and had a role for Dylan in his proposal. He put a little red collar around his neck and attached the ring onto it. I was totally surprised and even love Jack more that he used our baby - a story I'll never forget!

And to you Sher:
You are a truly kind hearted lovely person. I never really thought about the entire role of a breeder until I met you and went though this whole process with you. I am so proud to say that I have you as my breeder and would recommend ANYONE, who can care for this little breed, to you. Thank you for putting up with me and answering all of my questions. You have been there from the very beginning, since Willow was pregnant with Dylan. The least we can do is provide you with updates on how he is doing and send lots of pics as he grows. You have been the reason even more love has been added to our home and we are forever appreciative to you. You may be hearing from us sooner or later for #2 (maybe after the wedding)-
Love,
Sonia & Jack (& Dylan) from Chicago

A couple of years ago I decided we needed another puppy.  After going into the AKC website, I decided a ShihTzu was perfect for us.  After checking a couple of websites looking for breeders and becoming more disappointed each time, then I found Sherry.
Sher had just sold a litter of puppies, the pictures were large enough to see the puppies up close.  They were beautiful and you could tell that they were healthy.  After finding out how open and honest Sher is, I filled out an adoption application. In September 2003, I drove from Flint Michigan to Coldwater to pick up Webster.  He is the sweetest most loving boy we have ever had.  He wakes us up in the morning with kisses and he loves to cuddle.  He also likes my husband best.  We were so happy with Webster, we decided to get another puppy from Sher.  This time, Maggie came to live with us.  She is just as loving and healthy as Webster.  My vet was really pleased with the care Sher took with our pups.  Because of their beautiful coats, their great health, and their great temperments, he told us we got two great puppies that should be with us a long time.  Thank you Sher for being the great person and great breeder that you are.

Just a note to say... Thank you Sher for our wonderful healthy little girl. We named her Jacey Laine and we couldn't be happier, she's sweet, playful and beautiful! We love how her head tilts when we talk to her, her expressive eyes, wonderful short nose and she smiles at us all the time! She's nice and solid as a Shih Tzu is suppose to be, great short little legs and her lush full coat is to die for! Everyone who sees her, comments on how pretty she is.

Thank you Sher for our smooth buying experience. You made it so easy for us, in fact can't get any easier because you flew with her all the way to Phoenix, Arizona! We appreciate your phone calls and all your emails explaining the details we needed to know. And... another thank you for your time you've taken out of your busy days to answer my questions.
Also wanted to mention ... a thank you for the photos of Jacey's parents and the new ones of her as she matured, we got to show her off even before she came home!
We're pleased to recommend you to anyone who wants to purchase a Shih Tzu puppy, we hope to do business with you again.
We love our puppy!
Thankyou,
Jackson & Jeri

December 28, 2005

I am not sure where to begin except at the very beginning.  Late in the spring of '05 I sent myself on a mission to find the best and most honest breeder I could for the new Shih Tzu Puppy.  You see I have one Shih Tzu already but she is 22 lbs and yes a true love but she is a big girl…this time I wanted a TRUE Shih Tzu in size.  After months of research and contacting many different people…I kept coming back to Sher's website.  This is where I not only met an honest woman who loves her dogs but I've also made a wonderful new friend in the deal.

Our little Mandi  arrived to her new forever home right after Thanksgiving of this year.
We couldn't be more pleased with her either.  She had a rough trip across country, only because DELTA airlines was simply the worst ever.  She was not allowed any food or water or any human contact during the 5-6 hour flight.  The poor little thing screamed the entire time too, which caused severe stress induced diarrhea upon her arrival to Washington.  Luckily for me, Sherry was flying with her and that was at least soothing for her to hear something familiar.  Because of the horrible treatment both Sher and Mandi received I will never fly Delta Airlines again!

Now with all that behind us our life is grand!  Mandi has gained almost a full pound in 4 weeks.  She is happy and healthy and has the sweetest and most wonderful personality.  She is very smart too because she is almost house trained.  Plus two days ago she decided she was going to learn to climb the stairs all on her own.  We have a 2-story home as you might have figured out.  After a bit of too much quietness in the house we went looking for the baby and found her one step from the top of the stairs.  Since that day she gets up quicker and quicker each time.

I cannot thank Sher enough for all the love and compassion she puts into these babies!  I would not think twice about where to go the next time I plan to add to our little family.  Sher is as honest and the day is long, she is there for you if you need it no matter what time of the day.  She keeps you informed about your baby from the second she/he is born allowing you to enjoy the entire experience and joy of adopting a new baby into your home.  If anyone thinks that Sher is a little bit strict with her rules….then you aren't shopping in the right place and you don't deserve to have a puppy from Sher.  I thank God for Sher being as strict as she is, because it's in the best interest of the puppies, moms and dad's.  This is not a puppy mill operation, this is simply a woman who loves the breed, wants to share with others who love the breed, really knows what she is doing, and is extremely conscious about what is going on in her field.  If you want an awesome Shih Tzu puppy, one that is exactly as Sher states the puppy will be….then you want one of Sher's puppies!  The size will be exactly what is stated, as will the personality, color and disposition of the dog.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Sher!
